I watched a ton of movies in the theatre this month which was a nice treat! It’s always a great excuse to eat some popcorn with M&Ms. These posts keep slipping later and later in the month, so I’m going to try to get back on track with the next one!

🎥 Prom Dates - Was really looking forward to this one but found it very underwhelming. Barely even remember what happened in it at this point. (C-)

🎥 Anyone but You - I know this movie got a lot of hate but I went into it with 0 expectations and had a great time. Simple, stupid, mindless rom-com. (B+)

📺 Class of ‘07 Season 1 - Fun little comedy show that was worth a watch. (B+)

📺 Baby Reindeer Season 1 - Very curious how we will look back on this series in a decade. Was it exploiting a woman with mental illness? Was it illuminating a painful experience? Whatever it is, thoroughly enjoyed it. (A)

📚 Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts - A recommendation from my co-worker. Very different from what I usually read but was very interesting nonetheless. (A-)

🎥 Fall Guy - Perfect summer popcorn movie. Just go see it. (A)

🎥 The Idea of You - Adorable rom-com, perfect for being cuddled up on a date night. (A-)

📚 The Icarus Hunt by Timothy Zahn - Prequel? Book he re-wrote? Still don’t really understand how this fits into the universe of the other books in the series. (B+)

📚 The Galactic Cold War #1 - #3 by Dan Moren - Solid and easy to read, but nothing too special. (B+)

🎥 Babes - Was a bit underwhelmed from it but maybe my expectations were too high for it. (B+)

🎥 Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - Not as good as the previous films in this reboot series but still a fun film to see. (B+)

🎥 Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga - Nowhere near as good as Fury Road but still a fun ride! It was very divisive with my friends I saw it with, but for me, it was exactly what I wanted from it. Finishing it with shots from Fury Road was a mistake, though; it really shows how Furiosa pales in comparison. (B+)

🎮 A Short Hike - I saw some articles and videos about how fantastic this was but was a bit underwhelmed. Maybe a bit too simplistic for me compared to something like “Firewatch”. (B-)

🎥 Alan Partridge’s Scissored Isle - I love Steve Coogan but only have slowly jumped around through the Alan Partridge works. This one was a very entertaining film. (A-)

📺 Hacks Season 3 - Another solid season of Hacks, it continues to be one of my favorite shows on TV. (A)

📚 In Our Stars by Jack Campbell - A new series by Jack Campbell that is suspiciously identical in plot to his previous series? Was still enjoyable, but really felt like he had the opportunity to do something new and just did what he was comfortable with. (B)
