I spent three weeks of April traveling in Europe, with very little time spent reading or watching TV or films, so it’s a very light list this month! I enjoyed watching six soccer games over three weeks, replacing many other media I could consume.

πŸ“š The Bezzle by Cory Doctorow - Another light fun book in the “Martin Hench” series from Cory Doctorow. I burned through this one in a week or so; it was a fun read. (A-)

πŸ“Ί 3 Body Problem - I had no hope for this being watchable. Combining a hard-to-adopt book with the David Benioff and D. B. Weiss combo seemed a recipe for success. I ended up being pleasantly surprised! They made some great modifications to the series, making it much more watchable on-screen. They picked a part of the book to end the season, and I have some questions about how they will adapt book 2, but overall, it was worth the watch. (B+)

πŸ“Ί Fallout - Despite never having played the game, I was drawn to it by the rave reviews from my friends. I expected a light and entertaining experience, and boy, did it deliver! The game was a rollercoaster of insanity and chaos, keeping me hooked throughout my travels. (A)

πŸ“Ί Blue Lights Season 2 - One of my surprise favorite shows of last year knocks it out of the park with their second season. There are some great new characters and some growth of existing characters paired with a great story. I can’t wait for the next season. (A)

πŸŽ₯ Challengers - Zendaya in a steamy love triangle? What more could you watch in a movie? Set against the backdrop of professional tennis, it makes for an exciting, engaging film. (A)

πŸŽ₯ Civil War - As a fan of director Alex Garland’s work, I was eagerly anticipating this film. It didn’t disappoint. It was a captivating and emotional journey, completely different from what the trailer led me to expect - in the best way possible. (A-)
