I’m off traveling for a good chunk of April, so I wanted to finish this media diet in a timely fashion. I know I won’t get to it the moment I’m on the road. It was great to read a few books in the same month again after January was dominated by Stormlight Archives, causing me to be less excited about reading in February.

šŸ“ŗ School Spirits Season 2 - I found the first season just OK, but the second season found its groove. I can’t wait to see what they do with Season 3. Worth checking out. (A-)

šŸ“ŗ Ripley Season 1 - A series I slowly worked my way through. It had some episodes that were incredible TV and others that were just OK. (A-)

šŸ“š Picks and Shovels: A Martin Hench Novel by Cory Doctorow - I enjoyed all the core Martin Hench series books but didn’t love this prequel. I didn’t feel it was super necessary for a story to be told. (B+)

šŸ“š Persuader by Lee Child - Season three of Reacher was coming out, and it was time to read yet another book in this series. It was… okay. It’s probably the most underwhelming so far. There just isn’t much to say about these books. (B)

šŸ“š Mage-Queen’s Thief by Glynn Stewart - Needed a break and a light Sci-fi novella in this series seemed a good choice. I breezed right through it. (B+)

šŸ“š Interstellar Mage by Glynn Stewart - I didn’t realize when I started it that it was an entirely different series in the same universe. It was fine, but the characters didn’t grab me like the core series. (B)

šŸ“ŗ Running Point Season 1 - Light and funny with a solid cast. Good mindless series while doing other things. (B+)

šŸ“ŗ Severance Season 2 - It took me a while to get through the first season, but I loved watching the second season weekly when it came out! My favorite show of 2025 so far. (A+)

šŸŽ„ Zone of Interest - I had been on my Oscar watch list for a while, and I finally got to it. Loved it from start to finish. It is just an intense, emotional film. A must-watch. (A)

šŸŽ„ A Simple Favor - For my life, I can’t figure out if I watched this when it first came out or not. It’s silly and fun. We’ll see how the sequel ends up being. (B)

šŸ“š The Treasure Hunters Club by Tom Ryan - I’m not sure how I found this one, but I enjoyed it! It was a light, breezy Canadian adventure. (B+)

šŸŽ„ Paddington in Peru - The previous Paddington films were an unexpected love of mine. I went into them with incredibly low expectations and was blown away. I had high hopes for this sequel, but it was a letdown. It lost a lot of the magic that made the previous films. (C+)

šŸ“ŗ Mythic Quest Season 4 - It’s hard to believe this series has been going on for four seasons! It is a mixed bag of a season, with some significant changes to the formula, but a bit staid at the same time. Has a standout murder mystery-themed episode. (B+)

šŸ“š Mickey7 by Edward Ashton - I haven’t had a chance to see the film adaptation yet, Mickey17, but the book is incredible. It’s one of my favorite sci-fi books in the last few years. Similar vibes to Murderbot Diaries. (A)
