Media Diet: April 2025

I spent far too much time on airplanes in April and watched way too much TV and film because of it.

📺 Side Quest Season 1 - I enjoyed this more than the most recent season of Mythic Quest! Fantastic vignettes of other gamers in the universe. It is recommended for anyone who’s a gamer, even if you haven’t watched Mythic Quest. (A)

📺 White Lotus Season 3 — This is a solid follow-up to the stellar second season. It features lots of new characters who you love to hate. This is going to provide meme content for years to come. (A)

📺 Dying for Sex Season 1 - Frontrunner for my favorite show of 2025. Incredibly emotional and deep. Shows the beauty of friendship and the devastation of cancer. Must watch TV. (A+)

🎥 Black Box - 2024 and 2025 are the years of the spy drama returning! This is a solid addition to the genre, but I won’t be rushing back to rewatch it anytime soon. (B+)

📺 Reacher Season 3 - Pretty underwhelming television. It wasn’t the best book and didn’t adapt well to TV. (C+)

🎥 Audrey - An entirely forgettable Australian comedy film. (B-)

🎥 Mickey17 - Nowhere near as good as the book. I felt let down by the adaptation. (B)

📚 A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett - An incredible follow-up to the first novel. My favorite ongoing series right now. I can’t wait for the next edition! (A+)

📚 Everything Is Tuberculosis by John Green - I have an undying love for John Green, and I enjoyed this sidestep into one of his passions. I learned a lot about TB! (A)
